Mart Tooming Partner

Mart Tooming is a co-founder and managing partner of Equity United.

Mart Tooming co-founded United Partners Group OÜ, a financial company providing financial advisory services, investing in private companies and investing and developing real estate projects. Since its inception in 2003, Mart Tooming has been heavily involved in initiating and managing direct investments of the group such as Vertex Estonia, Nelja Energia, Nordic Lumber and Balti Realiseerimiskeskus.

Prior to joining UP, Mart was acting as the CEO in Port of Tallinn, the largest port on the Baltic Sea. Previously, until November 2003, he worked for 12 years in Hansabank Group (now Swedbank), the largest commercial bank in the Baltics, where he was leading the Group’s leasing and factoring business unit Hansa Capital and was also acting as a member of Board of Hansabank and a member of Hansabank Group Credit committee. Under Mart and Tarmo’s leadership Hansa Capital became the largest asset-backed lending institution in CEE that spanned five countries.

Mart Tooming holds a B.A. in law from University of Tartu.

Tarmo Rooteman Partner

Tarmo Rooteman is a co-founder and managing partner of Equity United.

Tarmo Rooteman co-founded United Partners Group OÜ, a financial company providing financial advisory services, investing in private companies and investing and developing real estate projects. Since its inception in 2003, he has been heavily involved in initiating and executing corporate finance deals in the aggregate amount of 750M EUR. In addition, his expertise and experience has been essential to sourcing and executing deals for the direct investment and real estate arm of the group.

Prior to United Partners, he worked more than 10 years together with Mart Tooming as Chief Finance & Risk Officer and Vice Chairman of Hansa Capital, the asset-based financing arm of Hansabank. Under the leadership of Tarmo and Mart, Hansa Capital became the largest asset-backed lending institution in CEE spanning five countries.

He has studied management accounting at Tallinn University of Technology.

Linas Sabaliauskas Partner

Linas Sabaliauskas is a co-founder and managing partner of Equity United.

Prior to Equity United, Linas Sabaliauskas was a managing partner and head of corporate and transactions practice group at a pan-Baltic law firm TRINITI, specializing in M&A, private equity, venture capital and capital markets.

In the course of 15 years of professional experience, Linas has advised on a number of notable transactions including, among others:

• Full-scope legal advice to potential investor Discount Investment Corporation on acquisition and financing of Bitė, a mobile communication company in the Baltics with an approx. transaction value of 500 MEUR
• Legal advice during the reorganization of the corporate structure of GeoNafta, the biggest oil company group in the Baltics
• Legal advice to a consortium of four Nordic private equity funds on the tender sale of Snaigė, a blue-chip Lithuanian company, to a strategic investor

Linas Sabaliauskas holds a Master’s in Law from Vilnius University and has completed post-graduate private equity programmes at Said Business School and Harvard Business School.
